Meet the Founder

Tamiza Virani, BA, BScOT.

Teachers Linked was created from firsthand experience in classrooms -seeing both the incredible potential of students and the growing demands placed on educators.

Working closely with children, teachers, and school teams, Tamiza saw a clear gap:
students needed more engaging, hands-on learning opportunities, and educators needed practical support that truly fit into their day.

That’s where Teachers Linked began.

With a background in Occupational Therapy and years of experience in education and STEM programming, Tamiza created Teachers Linked to bridge that gap -bringing together hands-on STEM and professional learning that is simple, relevant, and immediately applicable.

Today, everything we do is focused on one goal: creating engaging learning experiences for students while making teaching more manageable, supported, and impactful for educators.

At the heart of it all is one belief: when educators feel supported and confident, students thrive.

Kurtis Hewson  | Co-Founder, Jigsaw Learning

Kurtis Hewson serves on the Advisory Board at Teachers Linked, bringing deep expertise in collaborative leadership, inclusive school culture, and system-level change to support the organization’s mission of strengthening classrooms through well-supported educators.

As a trustee, Kurtis provides strategic guidance to Teachers Linked, helping ensure its learning, partnerships, and resources remain grounded in evidence, focused on collaboration, and responsive to the realities educators face every day.

Lorna Hewson | Co-Founder, Jigsaw Learning

Lorna Hewson serves on the Advisory Board at Teachers Linked, bringing deep expertise in educational leadership, system design, and inclusive practice to guide and strengthen the organization’s work.

As the Lead Learner and Founder of Jigsaw Learning, Lorna works full time alongside schools and districts to build responsive, collaborative, and inclusive learning environments. With a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration and experience across school- and district-level leadership roles, she brings a systems-level perspective grounded in the realities of day-to-day classroom practice.
As a trustee, Lorna provides strategic guidance to Teachers Linked, ensuring its learning, resources, and partnerships remain grounded in evidence, responsive to educator needs, and focused on creating environments where both educators and students can thrive.

Farhan Virani, CA, CBV

Farhan Virani brings a strategic, governance-focused perspective to Teachers Linked, helping ensure the organization is built on a strong, sustainable foundation that can grow and serve educators for the long term.

As President of Kanvi Homes, Farhan has spent nearly two decades leading a values-driven organization rooted in thoughtful planning, accountability, and long-term impact. With a background as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator, he brings deep expertise in financial stewardship, operational strategy, and organizational governance.

At Teachers Linked, Farhan supports the behind-the-scenes structure that allows the mission to thrive — from sound decision-making and responsible growth to ensuring resources are used in ways that truly benefit educators and school communities. His role helps translate vision into sustainable action, so Teachers Linked can continue supporting educators in meaningful, practical ways.
