Meet the Founder

Tamiza Virani

Teachers Linked is founded by Tamiza Virani, an occupational therapist with years of experience working alongside children, educators, and school teams. Through direct classroom work, she sees firsthand how diverse student needs are - and how much educators are expected to manage every day.

Teachers Linked is created to bridge that gap by providing practical, classroom-ready support that strengthens educator confidence and helps students succeed. Tamiza is also the owner of e² Young Engineers Edmonton, delivering hands-on, curriculum-aligned STEM experiences that build curiosity, confidence, and problem-solving skills.

At the heart of her work is a simple belief: when educators feel supported and prepared, students have the opportunity to truly thrive.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple but ambitious: equip educators with the tools, confidence, and support they need to lead dynamic, inclusive classrooms — and empower students to become creative thinkers, innovators, and problem-solvers.

Through flexible online courses, classroom-ready resources, curriculum-aligned STEM field trips, and our signature STEM 365 model, we help schools provide sustained, future-ready learning that builds skills, curiosity, and engagement — without adding to already heavy workloads.

Kurtis Hewson  | Co-Founder, Jigsaw Learning

Kurtis Hewson serves on the Advisory Board at Teachers Linked, bringing deep expertise in collaborative leadership, inclusive school culture, and system-level change to support the organization’s mission of strengthening classrooms through well-supported educators.

As a trustee, Kurtis provides strategic guidance to Teachers Linked, helping ensure its learning, partnerships, and resources remain grounded in evidence, focused on collaboration, and responsive to the realities educators face every day.

Lorna Hewson | Co-Founder, Jigsaw Learning

Lorna Hewson serves on the Advisory Board at Teachers Linked, bringing deep expertise in educational leadership, system design, and inclusive practice to guide and strengthen the organization’s work.

As the Lead Learner and Founder of Jigsaw Learning, Lorna works full time alongside schools and districts to build responsive, collaborative, and inclusive learning environments. With a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration and experience across school- and district-level leadership roles, she brings a systems-level perspective grounded in the realities of day-to-day classroom practice.
As a trustee, Lorna provides strategic guidance to Teachers Linked, ensuring its learning, resources, and partnerships remain grounded in evidence, responsive to educator needs, and focused on creating environments where both educators and students can thrive.

Farhan Virani, CA, CBV

Farhan Virani brings a strategic, governance-focused perspective to Teachers Linked, helping ensure the organization is built on a strong, sustainable foundation that can grow and serve educators for the long term.

As President of Kanvi Homes, Farhan has spent nearly two decades leading a values-driven organization rooted in thoughtful planning, accountability, and long-term impact. With a background as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator, he brings deep expertise in financial stewardship, operational strategy, and organizational governance.

At Teachers Linked, Farhan supports the behind-the-scenes structure that allows the mission to thrive — from sound decision-making and responsible growth to ensuring resources are used in ways that truly benefit educators and school communities. His role helps translate vision into sustainable action, so Teachers Linked can continue supporting educators in meaningful, practical ways.

Farhan believes that strong systems matter — whether in business or education — and that when organizations are built with clarity, care, and purpose, the people they serve are better supported. Through his involvement with Teachers Linked, he is proud to contribute to an organization dedicated to strengthening classrooms by supporting the educators at the heart of them.
